And I thought that $250-300 was too expensive. Sources close to retail in Brazil have said that the Playstation Vita will retail for R$1.600,00 (roughly $931 American). This isn’t even for the 3G version of the handheld. Hell, the source said that there aren’t even any plans on releasing a 3G version in Brazil.
This price seems absurdly expensive until you look at the prices of other consoles in Brazil. The Playstation 3 goes for $1,299 (American) and the 4GB Xbox 360 goes for $799 (also American). And people in Australia say that their game prices are bad.
Sony has come out to say that they have no official comment on the subject.
Looks like a lot of Brazilians will be having their Vitas imported from the US. Can’t blame them.
